The F430 will be replaced this autumn by Ferrari's all-new mid-engined V8 supercar.
This, though, is how Ferrari is sending off the F430 after five years of service. The last F430 to leave the production line will be this special two-tone edition, auctioned off to support the victims of last month's Abruzzo earthquake.
The gold-on-silver livery is inspired by the colours of L'Aquila, the city at the centre of the earthquake, and we reckon it works surprisingly well on the F430. Though those wheels are going to be a bugger to refurbish if you kerb 'em.
The final F430 will be put under the hammer by RM Auctions at Maranello on May 17, alongside that gorgeous Ferrari 330 P4 Le Mans racer. We're guessing it'll be a little more affordable...

It's not quite Rosso Corsa, is it? But it's a nice idea and shows that Ferrari cares. Or it shows that the face of sports cars is taking advantage of people's sympathy. I can't decide which is more likely, after the whining F1 team and the too-clinical California.

*after the moaning F1 team (actually I'm no longer sure how relevant that is) and the too-clinical California making them seem like a big faceless organisation trying to get money.

Well it sounds like a good cause. Because for once its a desirable item. I reckon £200,000 maybe? I dont think its too bad, but black wheels would look tastier.
