We've waited a long time for a new Ford Fiesta ST... and we're going to have to wait a while longer. Sorry.
This isn't the new Fiesta ST. This is the Fiesta S1600, essentially a standard 118bhp Zetec S with a bodykit, a whole load of posh racy bits inside, and exactly no more power. Sorry.
Not that we're complaining about the bodykit. Or the white wheels. Or the nice leathery stuff on the inside. Or the fact that you can, if you so desire, order your S1600 with the noisy Mountune engine upgrade, boosting power by 20bhp and cutting the Fiesta's 0-60mph time by two seconds.
But, meh, you could get the same upgrade on the standard Zetec S. We're loving the looks of your S1600, Ford, but why not go that little extra step and turn it into a proper ST?
Let's say... 180bhp from a revised version of the 1.6-litre engine - keeping it naturally aspirated, mind - a slightly beefed-up chassis and a set of furry dice hanging from the rear-view mirror? We're not asking for much...
Now watch Jeremy's 'sensible' Fiesta test from series 12:

car looks nice though the wheels look a lot like the rims they use for rallying and stuff.i think it looks pretty neat. as for a proper hot hatch version of this, they should put a 1.4l twin turbo 210bhp direct injection unit with the tick front differential from the focus rs!

the new fiesta is nice it beats the polo in one area, and that is the standard fiesta is still a nice place to be in wheras the bog standard polo is a feast of grey and dullness, but why cant ford improve upon the new fiesta and give the interior a new colour screen display which would allow for sat nav to be integrated into the car it would not be a big step just a colour screen

I think Ford should do a 4 wheel drive version with 800bhp and make it road legal! Is that even possible? I hope so.

one word WHY!!!!! it still looks rubbish and has less power than a un used windmill. its still wearing mascara and eye liner and the bodykit is just like it is wearing foundation. its a car for girls. its the worst looking fiesta ford have produced yet. and its too cheeky and soft looking and they have tried to spice it up with a body kit it looks rather stupid.
