Forza: watch the official trailer
Forza Motorsport 3 is nearly upon us, but October 23 still feels like a long way off.
But what's actually a long way off is March 2010. That's when Gran Turismo 5 is released and, frankly, we just can't wait that long, so Forza is your best option for now (if you're lucky enough to own an Xbox 360 or a PS3).
Although sadly, this launch trailer is really quite cheesy, so try to tune out the voiceover so you can watch and listen to the cars. More than 400 of them. That's a lot of driving time.
From the list, the ones that have gotten us more than a little twitchy are the Aston Martin Racing DBR9, BMW Rahal Letterman Racing M3 GT2, 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO (pictured) and 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV.
Oh, and the 1998 McLaren Gulf Team Davidoff F1 GTR.
And the Ferrari F333 SP.
Anyway, enough of our geekery. Watch the video and tell us what you think...

Hmm Audi R8 vs the possibilites of the Corvette Z06 the Nissan GTR or The Citreon GT. Gran Turismo wins there. Dont get me wrong this game looks fantastic just Gran Turismo has always been the best racer and will still be when Gran Turismo 5 comes out. So Forza will be king for possibly two months. Then Gran Turismo will reclaim its prize

I'm sorry, but the lighting, reflections and textures just aren't as good as they should be - NFS Shift does better graphically (although I hate the interface and physics of that game), let alone even GT5 Prologue. In fact, compare screenshots between Forzas 2 & 3 - and be amazed at the similarity. I'll still buy it (I have the other two), but only to keep me ticking over until March. Although GT PSP is currently doing that...

I only like proper simulation-games, so i wont be buying GT5 or Forza... Will be sticking to the proper sims on a high-performance PC, thank you.

I have little experience of proper modern racing games (my last was NFS carbon which has a choice of about 40-50 cars) so the idea of 400 cars is staggering to me. I don't think i could find 400 cars i liked even if i was uber-rich.

Everybody wanting to get a great racing experience should take a look at Forza3 for now. There´s no better racing-sim out there for now. GranTourismo5 won´t be coming until March in Japan with unknown delay for the rest of the world. And it has to prove it can be par or maybe better than its biggest competitor. Dear, TopGear ! I know the show is about the real supercars. But wouldn´t it be interesting to implement the virtual cars into the show somehow with maybe this kind of setup ? I bet forza is so chufed about having the bugatti veyron in the game... but than again Gran Turismo PSP has it as well.

why is this site being so overly critical about Forza 3 theres nothing prevent people from buying this and GT5. there both going to be great and on completely separate systems. the games are both about loving cars and racing them not which game is better.

the bugatti veyron is no new thing on video games. it was already being put on playstation store for £1.99 for an add-on for need for speed prostreet. and let me tell you that the physics are terrible, and it can only go fast in a straight line. If you put it on a tight track against, let say, a panani, koenigsegg, mclaren or a lambo sv, the veyron will lose every time. sorry to disappoint you...

The tyre smoke did look quite unrealistic tbh..there are games with a lot better tyre smoke out there atm..I hope they fix that or it just looks like it in the video. Does anyone know if it they will release it for a PC also in some time?

i herd forza will be sold for the ps3 aswell.... does anyone think nfs shift is an ok game. i just dont like how sometimes it feels like the car is not on the road.... i dont have xbox so i have to play nfs until gt5 comes out. but im gonna save up to play gt5 on the psp. i figuer that will calm me down....

^forza wont be on PS3 because Turn 10 (the developer) is owned by microsoft. just like how gt5 wont be for xbox because of the sony connection

Im a huge gamer. Played gt4 and enjoyed it alot, played forza and it was ok. The new one looks promising though. We musnt forget Grid Racedriver ,Really good racing game.

People are forgetting that Gran Turismo has no auction house to sell tunes, designs, graphics, paints etc. This is a HUGE part of the game. Not just about the racing as a lotof people now drag, drift, and race as well. Tyre smoke? it runs at 60fps so if you want smoke go elsewhere as it makes the game lag and look terrible. Physics are spot on (unlike GT4s rallying.....)
