Gemballa

Gemballa says its two newest creations, the Cayenne-based Tornado and Panamera-based ‘Mistrale', are ‘works of automotive art'.

In fact, the German tuner adds that ‘if the highest levels of individuality and exclusivity are requirements for greatness, these offerings qualify'.

While you chew on that for a moment, both models get most of their outer body panels replaced with carbon-fibre equivalents, 22in wheels and Brembo brakes.

See pics of the Gemballa Tornado and Mistrale. it's like art, or something

The Tornado (above) gets 580bhp while the Panamera-based Mistrale gets 610bhp and 626lb ft of torque. If you're ‘really hungry', Gemballa can offer 700bhp and 737lb ft for both models, thanks to ruddy big turbos, a sports exhaust, high efficiency intercoolers and bespoke ECU mapping. That's quite an appetite.

Naturally, Gemballa will deck out the interior using many cows and lots of Alcantara, and frankly, we're speechless. Just 30 will be made of each. Discuss.

why is it they're modifying ugly cars and then making them uglier? are they just trying to scare people?

Gemballa have achieved something that I believed was impossible up until now. They've actually managed to make the Cayenne even uglier and less appealling. And it's not marginally worse, either. This is revolting. And saying something's art isn't really a compliment anymore; have you been to Tate Modern? After looking at this, a standard Cayenne seems an attractive proposition.

so its an ugly car crossed with a poorly built car... why would anyone think a Panamera and an Evo would somehow make each other better?

The Cayenne had already fallen out of the ugly tree, but now it's been beaten to within an inch of its life with the ugly stick as well. Yep, that is seriously hideous.
