According to Top Gear's highly spurious and questionable scientific knowledge, playing car racing games for hours makes you an 88 per cent better human being. And a better driver.
We have evidence. When we put iRacing hero Greger Huttu in the cockpit of a single seat racing car (see link below), he transformed his hours of virtual play into respectable real-world racing times around the Road Atlanta raceway in Georgia.
Now another chap has transferred his gaming skills into real-world prowess. Denis Malevanyi hotfooted it around the Nurburgring in GT5's virtual reality and in tyre-shrieking-soiled-underwear-watch-that-scooter-reality.
He then edited both laps into this natty split-screen video, that you can now show your better half when they inevitably scream at you for spending hours on your PS3. Remember, the Geek shall inherit the earth...

Great video. It works and it's true. My 4yr old son wins his races on the Wii consistently and got bored of it in the end coz he could not get any more challenging races on it. I took him to a go-carting race but one for kids, dummy -like, and he broke the records they ever had at the kids events venue. To prove that it was not a fluke he did it again with 6 other boys much bigger than him and he left them standing on each occasion. Games mimmick real life situations. All you gotta do is adaptt as technique is already there.

Watch this. GT5 isn't a racing simulator, its still very arcade. This one was made with GTR Evolution from Simbin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXlr52Cp_Uo
