Group B rally cars need no introduction. Apart, perhaps, from: 'Handle with extreme caution...'
Ditched after just four years after a series of high-profile accidents, Group B saw some of the most powerful, most extreme, most terrifying rally cars ever: essentially unlimited, turbocharged nutters.
A short life, but a spectacular one, and a life that saw more than enough action to put together, say, an 11-minute YouTube spectacular of snorting, sliding, screaming rally beasts.
Best of all, it's a montage entirely unsullied by the traditional array of hippity-hop beats and the like: instead, you can bask in the fat-exhausted glory of the original sounds of Group B's finest.
Hit 'play' for a happy waste of 11 minutes, and don't forget to tell us which car's your favourite...

My vote for the best sound goes to Audi. That screaming five sylinder howl just won´t go off from my head.

The way that little Renault 5 at 2:54 cornered was astonishing, given how tail happy/snappy they could be. Brought back a lot of memories to see the Rothmans liveried Porsche too :) My favourite soundtrack was always from the Delta S4 - with all the huffing, chittering and growling it sounded like there were at least three major powerplants in there fighting for supremacy. The 037 looked utterly gorgeous though, still does.

Audi Quattro's the best!!! Though the little frisky Renault 5 was quite amazing too!!!

I have to say (because it?s true and because I worked there at the time) that the Metro 6R4 sounds the best. It was especially evocative in the forests when you were standing waiting for the cars to come through a stage. But it is hard not to have a special affection for the Lancia 037 for being beautiful and exciting.
