GT5 does Merc SLS
The November issue of Top Gear magazine - on sale October 7 - sees a
head-to-head battle between the two biggest supercars of the year: the
Ferrari 458 Italia and Mercedes SLS.
Suffice to say it's going to be one hell of a fight... and the boys at
Polyphony think so too. Last week the Gran Turismo 5 team showed us
their tribute to the new Ferrari... and today they've done the same job
for the gullwing SLS.
It's another gorgeous video from the GT5 lads, combining in-game
footage with real actual video of the SLS thrashing around a track.
Still not convinced by the looks of the big AMG? Having spent some
quality time in its presence, we can happily assure you that it's a
grower. Don't believe us? Watch this clip through a few times.
And no, before you ask, we still don't have a confirmed release date
for GT5. We were hoping to see it just before the New Year, but the
latest rumours out of Japan suggest it might be nearer March before the
game appears. Sorry. We feel your pain, we really do.
Hopefully this clip will ease the withdrawal symptoms a little. Enjoy...

Still not convinced on the looks of the new Gullwing, and the Ferrari was a total jaw dropper at first but now I'm not so sure. As for the Mclaren it's OK looking but has a ridiculous name. I'm going to need some convincing to part with my imaginary £150k (It would be more in euro but it's imaginary so who cares) Read an article on the SLS and it's not coming to Ireland at all, what's that about! You would be surprised to see a Mclaren or 458 here but Mercedes are just being obtuse.

From the front it looks like a mean mother fu**er lol but im still not convinced by the overall looks, something about the shape just dosen't seem right, but have to admit it sounds awsome and will probly be great to drive. But think the ferrari and mclaren will both be better and are both a lot better looking. As for the game, it looks incredible and the attention to detail is unbelievable (as per with GT games) think i might by a PS3 just for it.

I'm sick of hearing about all the Crap GT5 is "going" to have in it. The game is now over half a year late. I'm sick of waiting for it. I'd rather buy the new Forza.... which: A: Will actually be out before 2010 B: Will be better than GT5 C: Will have better online multi-player capabilities. based on the last release of both series of games... Forza blow GT out of the water. Any serious racing sim gamer will tell you that.

I think the old SLR looks much better. The front of the SLS looks good, but the profile and rear end look awful. Too much of a throwback to the old Gullwing

with you on the SLR, which i believe can be bought with a couple of miles for about £150-160 grand

Neither SLS nor 456 are good looking. Just compare them to SLR McLaren and 360 Modena. Am I right?

Omg it would be such a hard decision for me to make, the McLaren, the Merc or the Ferrari? All shining examples of what these great car companies have to offer us. The loyal third of me wants the McLaren because its british and its a McLaren. The 10 year old third of me wants the Merc for the sheer drama that comes with those gullwing doors and it is stunning if u ask me, on top of that it is the spiritual successor to probly one of the most beautiful cars of all time. The passionate third of me wants that Ferrari though, i mean jus look at it cant u jus see the soul not to mention it goes like a mother f*cker! Hard decision? not really . . . where three different parts of me want three different cars, all of me wants an SLR, and thats all there is to it :)

I like it but I need to see it in the flesh. It's supposed to be quite large but I keep thinking it is Z4 sort of size. I still love the original 300SL more though

They should at least add a few more cars to Prologue (as they did with the California etc.) if they're going to take forever to release the game.
