In the current economic climate, we're not sure we'd christen a car 'The Tycoon'. It's a bit, well... conspicuous, isn't it?
Then again, we are not Hamann, the German tuner responsible for some of the most conspicuous automotive creations of recent years. This is Hamann's take on the BMW X6 M, dubbed the Tycoon Evo M, and it is aptly named.
Treating BMW's 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 to a high-flow exhaust and a reprogrammed ECU, the Tycoon packs an upsetting 670bhp and 576lb ft of torque - 115bhp and 74lb ft more than the standard car.
Which means it'll obliterate 62mph in 4.2 seconds before running on to a top speed of 186mph. Four point two! In an SUV-thing! Why? For the love of Manilow, why?
Fattened by a diet of foie gras, truffles and sticky toffee pudding, the Tycoon is a full 12cm wider than the stock X6 M. It sits on 23-inch wheels and fecklessly trades shares in pyramid schemes. It defies financial regulators. It would raid your pension fund as soon as look at you.
Be afraid.

Completely horrific - as ugly and pointless and anything I have seen. The X6 in any form is one of the worst creations since Simon Cowell (I guess he has one of these?).... Anyway, it is just awful.... really awful....

What a Thing? I am not a fan of Hamann Tuning but what a beast. I am thinking of getting one. 4.2 Seconds for a mammoth. I originate from Africa. If anyone tells me that they saw an elephant shame a cheetah on the track i would head for the hills head downwards for a head collision. X6M beating M5 at 0-62? Outrageous but i love it. My new M3 is up for part-exchange. TG! What is the thingi... er.. the price? Should i plan a heist to be able to afford one. Someone show me the way to The City, Plz. Hurry! hurry! hurry!

I think it's terriffic! Why? Cause I wouldn't be able to enjoy cars I actually do like, if I couldn't compare them to insane stuff like this. And sometime i love a little madness...
