Honda CRZ GT

Good news! Honda has announced it will field a CRZ in the Japanese Super GT series.

In a statement, the company said it plans to contest the racing CRZ in the GT300 class, equipping the car with a "racing hybrid system" via Team Mugen through a joint project with M-Tec.

This means it will compete against a racing Toyota Prius - yes, really - and others including the stupendously winged Subaru BRZ GT300. As far as we understand from this class, all are limited to 300bhp by air restrictors and they must be kept as close to the road-going DNA as possible.

Elsewhere, you'll be pleased to note, Darth Vader's company car, the Honda HSV-010 GT, will also get a run in the GT500 class, now with improved dynamic performance.

We certainly hope it looks like the RENDERING AND NOT THE ACTUAL CRZ GT300 PICTURED ABOVE. Just to be clear, you understand.

Who will you be rooting for in this awesome racing series?
