Soul searching

What’s this Kia concept coming to Detroit? Do you even care?

Kia Soul

What sort of Soul is Kia bringing to the Detroit show? A lost Soul? An in-Soul? Another Soul-based pun that we can’t think of at the moment?

There is a bit of a mystery here, though. Kia has shown off this blurry teaser picture of ‘a new take on the Soul’ that it’ll unveil at the Detroit show in January… but the Koreans won’t tell us what it is. We assume it’ll have, y’know, a rear end. But beyond that, nada.

Described as ‘an all-new concept’ and ‘more than just a repackaging treatment’, the concept will, we’re told, demonstrate the flexibility of the Soul design.

So what is it? Judging by the profile of the doorline, could it be a two-door Soul? Would that even work with such a boxy little car?

What about a Soul mini-ute? We’d like that. Or a Soul-vertible? Or a Soul-UV. We’ll find out in January.
