It's turning into a good day for bizarre hybrids. We've already seen the Citrrari F355CV, and now here's a creation all the way from Russia that we've dubbed the Ladaline Turbo.
It's a cross between a Lada Riva and a Nissan Skyline - the car's creator, a Mr Kartuzoff, calls it the Lada 2105 Gladkov Adrenaline, but we reckon the Ladaline is much catchier - and, in spite of ourselves, we rather like it.
OK, the scissor doors and orange wheels (and giant rear spoiler, and matte black paint) might be a bit much, but the 2.5-litre Skyline-derived twin-turbo engine wedged under that blocky little bonnet? Sheer genius.
420bhp of Skyline-derived twin-turbo engine, to be precise, courtesy of a pair of Garrett turbines. As far as we can tell, it's a modified version of the R33 Skyline's straight-six engine, but if anyone's more proficient in Russian than we are, feel free to set us straight.
Top Gear eagerly awaits the identical-but-evil twin of the Ladaline Turbo: a GT-R powered by a 1.2-litre Lada engine. Anyone? No?

Didn't Top Gear chopped an old Lada 2107 a few years ago. Total cost of the car (Lotus worked on the engine) 100.000 pound, car sold for less then 10.000 pound?

My Dad had a Lada Riva. Cant wait to tell him about this. I dont think hed like this one though. He says a Vauxhall Zafira vxr is a stupid idea, so whats he gonna think of a Riva with a skyline's engine?!!!

I guess my Russian heritage will come in handy here. The Ladaline GT-R (or "Spartan-2105" as they call it) runs a Nissan RB25 family engine (so 2.5 litres straight-six) and an automatic gearbox in order to "make the driver's life easier". So yes, Top Gear's Russian was spot-on, and in a world of Google Translate, I'm completely obsolete.

RB25? So instead of using the RB26 DETT engine from a GT-R, they settled for the next step down (From a Skyline GT-ST25, single turbo by nature, but obviously modified here)? Is that so they could keep it Rear-Wheel-Drive?

The idea of placing a gtr engine on a Lada seems to be a good idea but placing a Lada engine on a gtr would be rubbish

This would actually be better if it had just the engine and no other modifications. Imagine a normal-looking Lada blasting away from you at the lights.

On a similar tack - I hear that Renault & Ford have announced they are to work together to build a new small car. They are to use the Renault Clio & the Ford Taurus as base platforms for the zippy little car, which will be named the Clitaurus. The car will be available with or without fur on the dash. How will men find this Clitaurus in the car park??

Well a thing you don`t understand the power of Lada, you just can`t feel the charm of this car...yes it`s a bit ammm old but when you love something you forget the problems. I have Lada and i`m driving it for 400 000 km or 200 000 miles without changing the oil so.. ;)

My Russian is pretty bad, but from what I gathered, it also has automatic transmission. It's ugly as hell. I like it.
