A proper Chelsea tractor?
Lamborghini, as the elder and more agricultural among you may remember (or have read on Wikipedia), started off building tractors.
Strangely, it stays quiet about that one nowadays (unlike, say, Saab and its blasted aerospace heritage), but one Canadian designer has decided to thrust Lambo right back to its post-war roots with this, the Toro tractor concept.
OK, so it’s not quite as cool a design study as the retro SL or the even retroer P1600, but it’s kinda cute nonetheless.
Sort of Pixar’s Cars meets Tonka, don’t you think? Though we can’t help worrying it’ll look a bit less cute when splattered in bovine effluent and festooned with mangled bits of sheep.
Designer Jason Battersby is staying curiously schtum on what powertrain might underpin the Toro, but it’s always fun to speculate. How about, say, a twin-turbo V12 putting out 800bhp or so? That’ll sort out those pesky goats.
Or, since it’s a farm vehicle, a monster diesel? The V12 out the Audi Q7 would do just fine…

Hope they make it mid-engined. A Gallardo engine should do fine, I reckon, tuned for more torque for less power. Also, I'm thinking racing version.

'i've got a brand new combine harvester and i'll give you the key...not really' looks smart if i'm honest could you imagine slowing up traffic on a small country lane in this beast then leaving them behind in a thick haze of smoke and manure? Priceless.

It's about time tractors moved into the 21st Century. Would be very cool with Audi's diesel turbo V12 but it doesn't look very heavy duty. Must just be for the hobby farmers :-)

Do farmers have an image complex??? so why do they need to look cool?? It just would be right listening to some farmer in the village boozer boasting about his V12 twin turbo and how quickly he can get to the end of the field when you're still struggling to pay off your Golf and and can't do more than 20mph in traffic because Boris Johnson just brought in a new speed limit. It's wrong!

Sounds good to me...imagine... a LamboTract with a V12 engine putting out 800bhp spreading pesticide on a quarter mile farm in under 10 seconds...absolutely brilliant!!! Looks pretty cool too.
