High ’Lander
Land Rover is to introduce a range-topping HST variant to its Freelander 2 model, which sees it getting a Sports Styling Pack - à la Range Rover Sport - that's basically bigger bumpers, some side skirts and a roof spoiler, plus 19-inch alloys, blacked-out windows and metallic paint.
It's all very obvious really, but with the RRS and Freelander 2 proving so popular, you can see where they're coming from: that + that = a cheaper RRS.
It might just be down to the hideous colour options on the promo pics, but we reckon it looks like a Freelander with a nasty Essex bodykit. At least the front does; the rear three-quarter view doesn't look quite so bad.
We still can't help thinking that bodykits on 4x4s are taking them even further away from their intended use, though.
Why don't people just buy estates?
