Lewis Hamilton stamps

Would you like to lick Lewis Hamilton? Would you, sir? Would you like to lick Lewis Hamilton and then, er, stick him firmly to the front of a letter? Would you?

Enough. As you might have guessed, there’s a set of Lewis Hamilton stamps out, commemorating the McLaren driver’s 2008 championship victory. That one with the final corner and all the rain and Timo Glock… remember?

The stamps will be released on January 15, but only – and here’s the kicker for us mainlanders – in the Isle of Man. The set of six follows the ‘British Racing Greats’ series released by (deep breath) the Philatelic Bureau of the Isle of Man Post Office earlier this year. They’ll cost – well, they’ll cost about the price of a stamp.

Which leaves one predictable question: will Lewis-adorned envelopes arrive quicker than standard post? Or will they drop through your door at the very last possible second as all the other envelopes flail helplessly about in the rain outside? There goes that metaphor, then…
