Going for gold
Lexus’s sketchy CT teaser has metamorphosed into an actual car. Well, an actual concept, anyhow.
It is called the LF-Ch and it will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt motorshow in a couple of weeks’ time, previewing Lexus’s 1-Series rival set to arrive in production form late next year.
So what do we know about it? Not a whole heap, in truth. The LF-Ch is a five-door hatch with similar dimensions to the slabby little BMW, and will launch with a full hybrid model capable of urban driving on electric power alone.
Unlike the rear-drive 1-Series, though, the LF-Ch is likely to be front-wheel drive.
We’ll get a proper look at the LF-Ch – and, no doubt, a whole bunch of eco-sermonising technical excitement – in Frankfurt on September 15.

Three quater rear view looks good. Looks like it have doors for the backseat as well, but not so obvious - nice. Concepts are fun and funny; they like showing cars without traditional mirrors, but then when reality kicks in...

looks great maybe not in gold tho but it is a lexus and if i had to get 1 it would be the is-f id still get the 1 series what ever TG say

Well it's gold.... Pretty much the best feature for an electric car

It is perhaps slightly fussy but I have to admit, I do kinda like it, even if it does scream BLING at you with the chrome & gold. Those wheels are sweet.

Tone it down to production spec before comparing to current cars - of course Lexus won't offer polished dubs and gold paint - although I think it looks more like a Mazda 3 than anything else at that angle. The whole hybrid thing puts me off though. Toyota are just doing it for the sake of it now.

Did anybody notice that it could have rear suicide doors ( like RX8 ) and is styled like a shooting brake?, I think it looks really cool and well designed 'cause most comments here can only see the color ( get some imagination and think philistines... ).

did they nick the colour from a late 70's Granada? its that kinda chest-wig gold. and it does look like an Astra, with Impreza style rear lights. depends on what the front looks like, i supposes.

Everybody seems to be downsizing their fast luxury cars and this is a good thing because they're cheaper! They'll say it's good for the environment but the really good thing is that they are more accessible to the average petrol head.

Horrible wheels, rear is rather fussy, and the colour is revolting. Apart from that it sounds interesting actually.
