You've always known this day would arrive, so this should come as no big surprise: that white Lexus LFA in the picture above is car number 500. Of 500.
Thus, it is the last ever Lexus LFA to roll out of the factory, marking the end of the line for Lexus's first ever supercar. A moment of silence, if you please.
This is the car, don't forget, that needs a digital rev counter because its 4.8-litre, 552bhp V10 gains and loses revs so quickly, an analogue dial simply can't keep up. Sheesh.
It's also constructed using technology mined from the far corners of the universe, accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds and will top out - where bravery and the law will permit - at 202mph.
Of course, this last, Nürburgring-spec LFA means it gets more horsepower than the standard car - 562bhp - and a host of aerodynamic aids such as a larger front spoiler, fin-type side spoilers, a canard fin and a fixed rear wing. The suspension has also been firmed up and dropped by 10mm, there are exclusive paint options and even dedicated, high-grip tyres.
Lexus tells us it built just one LFA per day, hand-crafted by a team of 175 people working in a dedicated factory in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The chief engineer, Haruhiko Tanahashi, said: "I've lived and breathed supercars for the past decade. Specifically, one supercar, LFA. Very few people have the opportunity we had to create a world-class supercar from a blank sheet of paper."
Quite. Knowledge gleaned from the production of the LFA - notably in carbon fibre tech - will be applied to future Lexus vehicles, one of which we're very much looking forward to: the Lexus LF-LC.
In the meantime, remind yourself just how cosmic the LFA was, with Hammond's power-test on TG telly. He might have baulked at the price (£350k is still a lot), but Jeremy has fallen in love with the "high-brow" supercar...
