Have you got a few quid burning a hole in your pocket? Step this way

Maybach Excelero

This is the kind of car a child with a crayon would come up with.

It's a huge beast of a thing based on the Maybach 57, that's powered by a turbocharged 700hp V12, and has reached 218mph in testing.

The idea for it came up in 2005, when tyre manufacturer Fulda got in touch with the then recently revived Maybach company with a project in mind.

Fulda wanted a car to test their most extreme high-performance tyre - also called the Excelero - that was heavy, luxury and fast, so Maybach seemed like the perfect place to go as they used to team up in the old days.

You may be wondering why we're writing about it again now. Well, that's because if you've got £4million burning a hole in your pocket, you can buy it.

It's a true one off in the best sense of the phrase.

Expect to see the Excelero in Jay Leno's garage sometime soon.
