It's turning into a good day for mad Photoshop concepts.
First we saw that Iranian Porsche Carrera GT-thing, and now here's a wild take on a futuristic McLaren F1 from Brit designer Matt Williams.
Evidently deciding that the new MP4-12C is just a bit restrained to carry the flag for its iconic older brother, Williams has kept his design much truer to the original.
It features seating for three, with the driver front and centre. Like the original F1, Williams envisages his concept using a BMW-derived engine - in this case the 5.0-litre V10 from the M5.
So which do you prefer? The understated MP4-12C, or this over-the-top monster?

This looks much better than that MP4-12C thing. The MP4-12C looks far too boring to be a supercar. I would definately prefer this one!!!

this is the best looking mclaren since the F1, and that was stunning. cant wait to see how it drives. love it !!!!!!

THIS is a proper McLaren. The MP4-12C looked just like a bunch of cars blended together, nothing too original

this looks crap, considering what the MP4-12C looked like! this is shocking. usually there is a design link between then products, there isnt at all here! and this doesnt look like it cuts the air very well!

I don't understand why McLaren went from building the world's fastest car to something that competes with an F430. Make something better than the F1 or at least equal to it, not slower! It's been almost 20 years since the F1, why even bother to make something that's not as good?

For my taste, this concept is too cartoon-y. It's front fender arches are just too large, giving it more of a comical look than that of a series racer, which is what this car should be known for. The tires are rail thin, not usually a problem, but they look to be missing, and the headlights look like a bad comic characters mask. The rear mirrors would be all but useless, and I'm pretty sure, as the stig has proved time and again, this car would, like so many others, absolutely NEED a rear spoiler. Not my favorite concept, a nice render, but I think it likely needs more work.

This is a design that started off with watching subsequently the movie Cars, a Monteverdi and a Zonda, and then progressed through adding some McL F1 features. Anyone can do that. There's no sparkle of originality here, no vision. It just sits there, pampering the punters. Zero points for effort.

This is a much more exciting design than that of the MP4-12C. Just as significant is the fact that it looks like the biological offspring of the F1 road car as opposed to an adopted Japanese child (looks more like a Lexus concept than a British supercar). Perhaps the black-eyed F1 program has affected eyesight at McLaren, thus contributing to the self-inflicted gunshot wound found in its left foot, A.K.A., the MP4-12C. Lucky for McLaren, there are plenty of people and Navigator owners with more money than taste. Mr. Clarkson knows what I mean, even if he doesn't come out and say so.

Even though I like the design it is impossible to better perfection (read F1). Again, I have to state that the point is being missed here. The MP4, in my opinion, is McLaren's attempt to do a Ferrari - become a regular "super car" manufacturer. You can do that with the MP4, which by the way I prefer to this thing, you can't do it with an exotic F1 want to be... It's about McLaren's new Philosophy, not about building an exotic car every ten years, or so... Now let us all be good boys and girls, get behind McLaren an kick those red Italian things into oblivion.

I like it, but i still like the original F1 more, what the car did to the veyron when the Stig and Hammond raced each other in the desert was brilliant. Mclaren needs to build a Veyron killer, not a Ferrari killer. That would be awesome

this is an awesome design, me and the guys at uni just stare mouth open at Matt Williams' presentation work which is hanging in the studio. It looks even better in a racing livery
