Launch pad: Follow Tom Ford as he takes on the famous Mille Miglia endurance race using a yellow helmet, some bravado...and a mint Jaguar XK120.
6 May, 8:47am
Ho'kay. Start time is about 8.30pm, so got to go and get the XK fitted with a transponder and then into Brescia for a parade-type thing. First got to do driver’s briefing and go through the roadbook for amendments. Then proceed to feeling a bit sick with worry. Look like Milk Tray man in my kit...
11:09am
Parade in the piazza...
11:30am
Nice row of Jags. Probably £15 million. Phew!
5pm
Ready to go. Look quite daft!
6:20pm
Name's on the side. Nervous now...
6:22pm
Chaos!
9:53pm
At night, no-one can hear you scream. Awesome!
10:58pm
My view. We're going great guns!
7 May, 1:53am
Hit all my marks for first stages. But just finished and up in 3 hrs. Oh gawd...
6:46am
Been up a couple of hours. At startline. This is hard work. Though massive fun!
6:54am
Coulthard and Hakkinnen!
11:10am
Car ok. Sunny now! Cooking!
12:06pm
End of first bit! View!
3:32pm
Everyone thinks I'm Tom Ford the fashion designer... This is both amusing and quite weird. Anyone want me to run them up a dress?
3:37pm
Jay Kay came for a chat - he's in a Maser. Nick Mason touched my hand and Dave Richards thinks I'm one of the hairy bikers. Hmmm. Celebs galore. And more rich people than you can shake a stick at...
5:42pm
Running 154 out of 374 (I think). This is good! But raining now. And I'm covered in oil. Great car to drive though. Even if it is older than god.
5:43pm
Now snowbound! Bones frozen.
5:44pm
Snowplough!
8:24pm
So happy! Just finished day two and now running 97th of 375... which is pretty good for newbie, I reckon. Ran the Imola circuit within 0.02 of a second of the allotted time. I can't count that fast... now just got to not screw up tomorow. Oh gawd.
8 May, 6:09am
Here we go again. Raining for the start. So today will be hard, I reckon. 15 hours of driving. Erm.
11:17am
In the hills above Sienna. Very tired, but epic!
10:11pm
One hour from finish. Suspension bust. Going for it!
11:57pm
Finished the Mille Miglia! Suspension failure failed to stop us. Suicidal locals failed to stop us. No idea of position, but hoping for top 150. Need large whisky. And a massive bed. For about two days. Got to go over finishing ramp and put car away yet...
9 May, 12:13am
The finish line!

Racing in the Mille Miglia would be super cool. I always pictured myself in something like an Alfa 6c or a merc 300 slr Uhlenhaut coupe. Either of those would be awesome
