Trumped-up charge
Here's one for the next series of World's Wildest Traffic Police Road Camera Reckless Offences Volume 4!: the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric police car.
And if you believe the entirely non-cheesy PR line, it will help the cops ‘crack down on crime while cracking down on CO2 emissions'. Fighting talk, eh? Petty thieves all over the country will be literally quite worried as they consider whether to walk away from the pursuing electro-car or perhaps break into a light jog.
Meanwhile, those pesky joyriders will be planning sophisticated escapes that involve ‘simply driving about 100 miles at 50mph and waiting for that ridiculous rozzer to run out of charge - unless he uses his one blue light, in which case the battery will be dry by the time we get around the block'.
The car has been on trial with Forces for about a year now, and West Midlands Constabulary will be the first to run one in full operations next month.
We wish them luck.

Just steal a petrol Mitsubishi i and use the motorways in the West Midlands for an hour or so. Or hide in water (unless you're in a car.) Actually, even a petrol i would be a rediculous police car - Kei cars are far too tall to go whizzing around corners at high speed and weaving in and out of stuff. PC Plod, soon to be renamed iPlod or e-Plod, is gonna lose out big time if he needs to do any chasing. But if you're doing 35 in a 30 zone, boy are YOU in trouble!! You'll never see that tall white police car lurking silently behind you...

That's the most pathetic police car i've ever seen. It's even got a lightning bolt on the fuel... no sorry... plug cap. Criminals will be stealing cans of Coca-Cola just so they can walk away from the pursuing Mitsubishi I-MIEV with their caps on back-to-front. This should star in a program called 'World's most useless police cars'. Honestly, i thought TG's police cars were ambitious to say the least, this is in an entirely different league. What's next for the police's collection of pathetic cars?

Ive just heard that Northamptonshire Police have just got some Insignias and BMW 5series. Please don't send one of these it's just awful and it won't do the job properly. Seriously, a donkey with police written on the side would be more use than that!

How very British of us to give the criminal a sporting chance to get away. The sight of this in your rear view mirror will actually lull you into a false sense of security, so you don't notice the stinger coming up. Clever.
