Steady yourself for some Good News, Internet... it's the new Vauxhall Insignia! We'll give you a few moments to calm your breathless excitement.
We'd like to point out that it's actually not a new Vauxhall Insignia, more a facelift, and - all joking aside - doesn't it look smart? We've long maintained that Vauxhall is now churning out some good looking cars, and this new ‘Sig is no exception.
You'll see the new, wider high-gloss chrome grille, set a little lower than before, as well as redesigned headlights, a smaller logo bar (the thing that holds the Vauxhall badge), black inserts in the fog lamps, a new crease on the C-pillar, slimmer tail lights, and a high-gloss chrome logo bar at the back.

There's been more surgery inside, too. Keen auto enthusiasts will immediately notice the (adenoids set to ‘stun') a completely redesigned centre console and instrument cluster, with fewer buttons, an optional 8in infotainment display and an 8in high-res instrument display, incorporating two outer dials (fuel and revs), and a centre speedometer in analogue or digital format. Astra GTE fans, unite!
On a more serious, driving-gloved point of view, the damper and anti-roll bar settings have been revised in a bid to make it handle a bit tidier, while the electronic power steering - long a bugbear of the Insignia - has been reprogrammed (except the VXR model) for more feel. We'll let you know if it has worked...
There are four new engine options too, including a 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel emitting just 99g/km of CO2, the 167bhp 1.6-litre petrol from the recently launched Cascada convertible, and a turbocharged 247bhp 2.0-litre petrol. The latter petrols are available with either a six-speed manual, or a six-speed auto, and you can spec the 2.0-litre turbo with four-wheel-drive.
