Honda NSX hits the ’Ring

As it's official Ayrton Senna Tribute Week here at TopGear, we thought we'd point you in the direction of a rather excellent video that's well worth six minutes of your life. Once you've watched Jeremy's Senna tribute on the iPlayer again, that is. And probably just once more for luck.

It's a six-minute tribute to the Honda NSX, the amazing ‘Everyday Supercar' developed by Senna himself in the early 90s.

OK, we admit the video is a bit of a slow burner, but just wait until the four-minute mark, when the NSX hits the Nurburgring Nordschliefe with seriously spectacular results.

Tell the boss you're in an important conference call, slip on your headphones, sit back and enjoy a happy slice of epic cinematography. And then curse Honda for canning its plans to build a new NSX successor...

BOO. Very emotional and everything - the Senna soundbites were a nice touch - but this NSX video needs more NSX in it. And why use a tuned version?

Cool car and camera work... but overly dramatic and sadly kinda lame. With the NSX being used as a "look at me" punctuation mark through the whole thing it does nothing to elevate it above any other Italian cock-mobile. The whole point of an NSX is understated super-car functionality, for a fair price, and ease of driveability. This opera, sadly, misses the whole point.
