The RC-thingy

Peugeot's big concept looks proper handsome, but doesn't have a name

Peugeot RC-thingy

It's fair to say that Peugeot needs a bit of a kick up its collective design arse at the moment. And this might, just might, be the car to do it.

This is the RC... concept. No, we're not buggering around with punctuation there - that's actually what Peugeot is calling it. See, until its unveiling at the Paris Motor Show in October, we're only being told that it'll be called the RC... . The RC-something.

Presumably a number of some kind, but we'd quite like them to leave it as an ellipsis, preferably associated with a quizzical raise of the eyebrow.

Anyhow. Peugeot is staying equally mysterious on the details of the RC... (Enough. We're calling it the RC-thingy until they give us a proper name). We know it's a four-door, four-seat concept based around a 'highly innovative' hybrid drivetrain with an output of 313bhp and combined CO2 emissions of 109g/km, but beyond that, not a lot.

Peugeot says that the RC-thingy is the link between the RC 'Spade' and 'Diamond' concept cars from 2002 and the 908 RC from 2006 - which presumably dates it around 2004.

We mock, but the RC-thingy looks pretty good, no? We'll get a closer look at it in Paris.
