Cayman goes shooting brake?
We need your help. See, our Stateside buddies over at TopGear.com US have uncovered a bizarre-looking Porsche Cayman-thing, but they're not really sure what it is.
Truth is, neither are we. Submitted by an American TopGear.com reader, the photo and video appear to show a shooting brake Cayman - a bit like the coachbuilt Ferrari 456 estate... but even weirder.
Actually, maybe it's more like a more extreme BMW Z4 M Coupe. Apart from the engine's somewhere in the middle. See? It's a confusing thing.
Admittedly the Cayman could be an aftermarket bodge job, but TopGear.com US reckons it's an official mule. Whatever it is, it's a weird thing.
What do you reckon, TopGear.com sleuths? Let's solve this mystery and stick it to the Americans...

Pretty poor for a shooting brake. You'd be hard pushed to get a Webley .22 airpistol and a Subway sandwich in the back of that. A proper shooting brake has an extended storage area for four armed huntsmen, 6 dogs, a rifleman's bench, a camouflaged tent, a collapsible field hospital, a rack of brandy, a downstairs area for high explosives, a lounge, a club-room, a kitchen, and a snooker table.

"nogginthenog" may be on to something with the Targa idea. Porsche cannot possibly make too big changes to the Cayman, like making it a hatchback or four searter - there's an engine in the middle. How about the silly idea that this might be a test bed for electric vehicles and they just needed more space for a truckload of batteries somewhere? HA!

Even if it was real do you think porsche, one of the worlds biggest sports cars manufacturers would park a brand new car in what by the looks of it is a back alley? ie it isn't a real porsche!

Porsche must have thought of making a SAV, like the ones of BMW(BMW X6, BMW 5 series GT) but with three doors. If it is a SAV then it will be based on the cayenne with cayenne engines speaking of which this might be the 2010 porsche cayenne. Maybe they are also introducing a three door model.
