Lambo GT1 arrives
We’re
big fans of racing Lamborghinis here at Top Gear, as we revealed with Reiter Engineering’s track-ready LP560 last week.
And now Reiter has come up with this, the LP 670 R-SV, which has us in a bit of
a sweat.
The aggressive beast, based on a Lamborghini Murcielago, was unveiled at the 24
hours of Spa, and is being targeted at an entry to the 2010 FIA GT1
championships.
Under the complete carbon fibre outer skin lies a 6.5-litre V12 producing
670bhp, all weighing in at a mere 1,150kg.
But looking at that rear shot, we just want to hear the thing.
The FIA only allows six car brands to be nominated for the GT1 series, so
fingers crossed these guys get in.

I saw this in the flesh... it just looks incredible.. it has this aura of POWERRRRRRRR!!!!! coming from it... Can't wait to hear the screaming sound of V12's in the Fia GT again, I know that the MC12 has a V12, but it doesn't make the same screaming sound as the old DBR9 and Murcie R-GT... I hope that this will come soon... oh and the Reventon was also there in the Lamborghini Super Tropheo bivak... that thing looks even more mental in real then it does on pictures... All in all a good weekend and enjoyed the race, just hoed that it would have been better weather on saturday :)

That's nearly 600bhp/tonne in an MR car that's about 6 or 7ft wide! Awesome.

I love it. But whenever I look at such a car I think... hm... could do with more power. I mean the V8 Caterham has 500 bhp... and weights like half of the Lambo.

So little power in a car that weight as much as my dad's Escort. Needs a few turbos. One for each cylinder, I reckon.
