Ruf CTR 3

Of all the German tuning companies, Ruf stands out as the real bad boy that builds the craziest, most hardcore cars.

Proof, if it were ever needed, comes in the form of the CTR 3.

It may look like a Cayman on steroids, but the mid-engine layout is about the only thing the CTR3 has in common with the Cayman.

Instead, the Ruf has a twin-turbo'd 3.7-litre flat-six engine pushing out 700bhp and 656lb ft of torque, to see it to 235mph and 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

There are huge 15in ceramic brake discs at each corner to bring everything to a safe stop, while 19in front and 20in rear wheels provide the surface contact.

If that's not enough to convince you that Ruf is the maddest of the bad, the £266,000 asking price for the aluminium and carbon-fibre CTR 3 should.

Would sure like to see the CTR3 and the Veron head to head. Anybody know the power to weight ration of these two monsters?
