Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher has written off a prototype 430 Scuderia at the Nurburgring, according to German newspaper Bild.

Reports suggest that the 39-year-old went off the damp track at around 155mph on the Schwedenkruz corner and hit a guard rail. The test mule was severely damaged, forcing Ferrari to switch to another car for the remainder of the session.

Some eyewitnesses have suggested that Schumacher's son Mick was in the passenger seat, though a number of 'Ring locals reckon that Ferrari test driver Raffaele DeSimone was behind the wheel, with Schumacher riding shotgun.

We need to know the truth, 'Ring afficionados. Was Big Schu driving? Was he a passenger? Was he in fact chasing the car on foot, at superhuman speeds, carrying his son under one arm and a unicorn under the other?
