Cheap as fritas
Fresh from unveiling its three-door not-supercharged Ibiza SportCoupe, Seat has announced prices for the five-door version of its new swoopy supermini.
And it's cheap. Set to go on sale in the UK in the middle of July, the five-door Ibiza will cost from £8,995 - down £300 on the current entry-level Ibiza.
That's good news, but things aren't so good if you want a diesel - the Ibiza will launch with the choice of three petrol engines (in 1.2-, 1.4- and 1.6-litre flavours) only, with no oil-burner set to arrive until 2009.
Before then - likely around November - we'll see the three-door Ibiza (or SportCoupe, if you're that way inclined) on sale in the UK.
Also, Seat has hinted that it will bring out a BocaNegra version of the three-door that will look almost exactly like the concept that we saw in Geneva.
Good work, chaps.
