More pictures of the Tesla Model S
On March 26, Tesla will officially unveil its all-electric four-door saloon, the Model S. Just to keep you keen – as if the thought of a zero emissions (well, sort of, but let’s not start that one again) family car with performance to rival the new Porsche Panamera wasn’t enough – Tesla has released this oh-so-cryptic teaser picture.
Actually, it has released two oh-so-cryptic teaser pictures: click on that bit of blue writing-stuff under the headline and you’ll see a dark, moody shot of the Model S’s roofline. Mmm, swoopy.
So what do we know about the Model S? Well, it’ll have a similar electric powertrain to the Tesla Roadster, which develops 248bhp and 275lb ft of torque through a single-gear transmission.
Because of its greater kerbweight, the Model S won’t be quite as quick as the lightning-fast Roadster – though it’ll hardly be tardy: expect a 0-60mph time of just under six seconds… as opposed to just under four seconds for the Roadster.
It should be cheaper than its two-door cousin, too. Though we don’t know the list price of the Model S yet, Roadster owners are being invited to join the waiting list for a refundable deposit of $40,000 – though after the late March unveiling, the rest of us proles will be able to order a Model S for a $10,000 deposit.
So which would you have? One of these… or a Fisker Karma?

It almost looks like a baby quattroporte with mazda influence and with merc slr wheels! That isn't a nice combo.

I've seen a couple of sneaky pictures from the back and it looks like a Ford Focus Convertable, If the 4-door Saloon has the same acceleration as the Roadster then this should be fast.

At last an electric car that actualy looks like a car not like somthing my dog left in the garden are you paying attention Toyota, Honda etc just coz its electric it can look like a nice car that has been designed

Why are these companies stalling the Hydrogen fuel cell !, which we know costs the same at the pumps, has no emmissions (which cuts tax) and is all round astonishing engineering. These hybrids and electric cars are emmiting the same - and most importantly don't have the wedding tackel to be in any 'good' car collections... waste of time !

Erm, TG, how about some updates? I've seen Model S on uncrate, yankodesign, etc. Did you check your inbox? Junkmail? Go back there and give us some proper pictures! lol

I bet the Fisker's better. Because of that whole "Stop nicking our stuff" court case thing, it's safe to bet the two will be very similar. They do also look pretty similar (I don't think lifting the cover to reveal most of the car, then providing a pic of the covered-up roof is very 'criptic' at all) and performance is about the same. However, because I don't like the Tesla Roadster, I'm sticking to my convictions and rooting for the Fisker.
