Worried about how you're going to get that next fix of sparkling banter, disastrous challenges and general cocking about?
In the event that Dave ever comes to the end of its supply of Top Gear repeats, we've come up with the ideal solution.
A satisfying mix of everything you love about the programme, Top Gear - The Great Adventures (Volume 2) box set DVD features the team's most ambitious challenges to date, and audio commentaries from Executive Producer Andy Wilman and the crew.
Watch the boys ditch the draughty aircraft hangar in favour of the wide open spaces of Botswana - in a special director's cut version that you won't have seen on TV - and try to travel the entire length of Vietnam in just eight days, thereby achieving what the American military failed to do in 10 years.
Expect lots of hippos, elephants and the apparently testicle-crazed honey badger, as well as petrol shortages, flying vice-presidents and the Stig's African cousin in what promises to be the ultimate test of man against machine.

Well, I've got it. And I do have a few things to say: -- Chapter breaking is a bit more limited than I would have liked; for example, a break would have been good between the discovery of the dong exchange rate and the introduction of the bikes. And it would also have been nice to see submenus and breaks for the "deleted scenes" of both discs. -- Good first effort on the commentaries -- I hope this becomes a standard feature on future TG episode releases. Extraneous sounds (like coffee sipping and cell phones on vibrate) might get some tsk-tsking, but they do add to the informal atmosphere established by the commentators. You might get some complaints that The Trio don't add their own comments or have their own track, but I'm sure they've said all they need to say in the main part anyway.

More comments: -- I fully realize that changing the music (due to copyright restrictions) is always going to be controversial. The changes to music aren't really that jarring, but it'd still be nice to retain as much of the music as possible. (This is more of a complaint about last year's Challenges 2 release -- finding out that the Stig's cell phone ring is the Coronation Street theme adds to his eccentricity; changing to the Top Gear theme just makes him predictable.) -- Dunno if this is a cost issue, but TG *does* have fans in the U.S. who'd love a simultaneous release. Could future DVDs be coded as Region 0 as Fremantle Media did with the "Jamie at Home" DVDs?
