So we've finally succumbed. Beaten down by the waves of people obsessed with telling each other what they are doing in unnecessarily short sentences, Top Gear has decided join Twitter.
Like all the best guests, we're a little late to the party, but we've been secretly working our Tweet game for a few weeks to try out the water - to the 455 of you who have noticed, thanks.
What to expect? Well, since Jeremy, Richard and James barely know what a tweet is, we'll be getting updates from them and the rest of the Top Gear team and doing the computery stuff to let you know what's going on behind the scenes.
To kick things off properly, we'll be tweeting from the telly show studio today - a few rehearsal pics and maybe some random stuff from the production office.
So if you're wondering what shoes Jeremy is wearing today or why Stig has erected a wigwam on the outfield of the TG test track, our Twitter feed will be the place to find out. Maybe.

But hasn't David Cameron just called anyone using Twitter a T**t - and as Top Gear has now joined Twitter that means the leader of the Conservative party thinks Top Gear is a T**t? Looking forward to following the main Tweets after enjoying the Beta ones - but how about getting the Stig to tweet? Could be the first Morse Code twitter stream

One of the few opportunities in life to say 'I'm following you..' to a complete stranger and not risk a visit from the rozzers :)
