This is Monday's Perth round of the Australian V8 Supercar series. The poor bloke inside the burning Holden Commodore VE? That's Karl Reindler, driving for Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing Team (seriously).
He stalled on the start line and got rear-ended by fellow racer Steve Owen. The impact split his fuel cell, which caused said massive explosion.
Thankfully, Reindler escaped with minor injuries to his hands. Glad you're OK, Karl-o.

Very impressive... that was a big impact, but not a huge one... I'm surprised the fuel cell exploded that easy... Hopefully everybody's OK.
