Veritas to build SUV?

Is the company behind the insane RSIII planning an off-roader? With an airplane engine?

Veritas RSIII

Remember the ridiculous Veritas RSIII that Richard drove in the last series?

Well, how do you fancy an SUV version? Seriously. Reports are reaching us from Germany that Veritas is planning a limited run of carbon fibre off-roaders.

We can't imagine, even for a second, what the hell it's going to look like. Bizarre, we'd guess.

But, should it happen, the Veritas SUV will be fast. The open-cockpit RSIII, remember, hits 60mph in something pretty close to three seconds flat, courtesy of a 620bhp BMW-sourced V10.

The SUV could be equally perception-bending, especially if it's powered by... an airplane engine.

Oh yes. We hear rumours that the Veritas SUV will pack a small aircraft engine. May we humbly suggest the 27-litre, V12 Rolls-Royce Merlin?

It also looks likely that, in addition to the 30 or so open-cockpit RSIIIs planned for production, Veritas will build roughly the same number of coupe RSIIIs.

Starting price? A mere £250,000...

Now watch Richard thrash the lightweight German racer:

An awful looking car and an awful idea to build an SUV. Might be a first though to have one built out of carbon fibre, bizarre!

car is not awfull. but idea of building a SUV may have an awful result. Building SUV'v is not a type of evolution that every car producer must reach. You can do good sedans, or good sportscars, or good SUV's, but not all toghether

Now the Veritas looks like a brilliant car but can you imagine driving it in london in the pouring ran. I don't think so unless you have an umbrella. Also if the engines from a BMW why don't you just buy the BMW. Hammond ROCKS

Why? Just why? Well at least a SUV version couldn't really look any worse. I'd love to see it built though. Just so i could laugh in its ugly face!
