Volkswagen has released a teaser clip of its fire-spitting Nurburgring 24-hour race track warrior.
The German giant has taken its best-selling, lovable and ubiquitous hatch and fed it through a terrifying Machine of Fear to create a 435bhp weapon of Ring destruction.
See pics of the Golf24. There is fire
It gets a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-pot engine with 400lb ft of torque, permanent four-wheel drive and a six-speed sequential gearbox, and was partly built to celebrate 35 years of the GTI. You will celebrate!
This, or the ‘Ring-prepped Scirocco?

What's so special about this golf. Its just like chucking C63 AMG V8 into a CLC, adding and subtracting bits and and letting it rip. Same as an M3 4pots squeezed into a Mini Cooper S, tweaking here and there and call it epic. Innovation please, VW? I'm getting fed up of VW cloning. They copy and cut and paste so much they make nothing new and reasonalbe. C'mon! Innovation Innovation Invation! Heritage, Heritage Heritage!!

Definitely not your average Golf. Where do I sign up? And RealMan, tell that to EVERY OTHER ENDURANCE RACER OUT THERE. They just take their road cars and do this "copy and cut and paste" thing you're talking about. A (useful) body kit, spoilers, upgraded or different engine, interior strip, roll cage, racing gearbox, etc. It's all the same with your logic
