Volkswagen has released the first pictures of the five-door version of its Up city car, set for a release later this year.
Differences? Well, that extra set of doors, obviously. The front and rear sections are identical in both body versions, while VW tells us the rear doors open wide and offer comfortable entry. We should certainly hope so.

Dimensions, trim levels and engines remain the same as the three-door Up, and although UK prices have yet to be announced, it carries a £390 (€475) premium over its sibling in Germany, where it will launch in March. The five-door version will be available all over Europe by early summer.
It's a good ‘un, the Up. As we pointed out in our huge Awards issue last year, to call it a smaller Golf is to do it a huge disservice. It's fantastically packaged, boasts plenty of passenger space and weighs less than a tonne: it's the cleverest small car around today.
But which one would you buy?

Have you seen the rear window??? It is a cheap QUARTER VENT WINDOW!!! How can you sell this stuff when there are cars like the Panda (even the old one was better then the UP!) out there? Sorry but this will be another fail for VolksWATER.

I'm not sure why the guy in the first comment is so mad... the Up (I'll just skip the exclamation mark, thank you very much) actually looks good and smart, unlike other supermini's, such as the Panda, which looks a bit clumsy. They could give the Seat a better name though... "Mii?" I mean, I'm from Portugal, and I think people will buy the Seat instead of the VW around here because Seat is a spanish brand and all that, but "Mii" is bit of a girl's car name. Anyway, for the price of a brand new Up you can get a decent used Polo or even a Golf... but it's ok, it's a way for brands to make money, and I don't blame them.
