Like the look of that Morgan Aero Supersports but fancy something a little more… Germanic?
Your prayers have been answered: German manufacturer Wiesmann is bringing a convertible version of its MF5 to the Frankfurt show next month.
It won’t be slow: the Roadster MF5 is powered by the same 507bhp V10 found in the BMW M5 and M6. That means a 0-60mph time of just under four seconds and a slightly scary top speed of 193mph.
The MF5 is built around an aluminium monocoque, and gets proper side impact protection, ABS and an extendable rear wing for added stability.
It won’t be cheap, either: Wiesmann is quoting a price of 189,000 Euro (about £163,000). At least you get exclusivity: just 55 convertible MF5s will be built.
We don’t know exactly what it’ll look like – the photo you see above is of the previous generation MF4 Roadster – don’t expect much of a departure from Wiesmann’s retro, low-slung formula. We’ll get a good look at the Roadster in Frankfurt next month.

For that price tag, I'm not interested. The figures are fairly impressive, the MF4 looked good on the show and the MF5 hardtop in the link isn't exactly ugly, but still...£163k? Thanks but no thanks......

Wiessman cars are just superb... good looking, rare, and I guess pretty reliable... I really love these cars, if only I got the money... I'll get one of those even over a proper supercar, at least you can use it everyday. Just superb.

I hope it handles well without the roof. If it does it will be a serious thing to contend with.

So the figures are impressive on anyone's standards, but does the thing still look like a 1543 cabriolet? Why, yes it does.

Too much power for a "british roadster" or any contvertable for that matter because who has the balls to have the top down at 193mph?
