Video: a very close shave

We're not sure of the provenance of this video, other than the fact someone in America uploaded it to YouTube and is insistent that it hasn't been mocked up or faked.

It is, however, well worth a watch if you need to wake yourself up. And a visceral reminder that if you're carrying loads on a flat-bed or on your roof, make sure you're not dropping them all over the road...Warning: this is probably not for those of a nervous disposition.

UPDATE: US site Jalopnik have tracked down the woman who took the video, 40-year-old Wendy Cobb from North Carolina.

I want to report this comment for:

A couple of things... 1) Why was this person filming nothing while driving down a freeway? 2) How in the name of everything good and pure does she/he not even make a peep when a chunk of wood nearly lodges his/her teeth well into the fabric of the headrest? 3) The chunk of wood comes from the ground on the left shoulder and not from the flatbed. Not that tying stuff down on a flatbed isn't always a good idea...

I agree with CdnTGfan. That wood did not come from the truck, it was on the left shoulder and the trailer in front of the car kicked it up into the windshield. Typical of people to blame trucks for all the problems on the road. If that driver hadn't been tailgating, and had been following with the 3 second minimum rule, that probably wouldnt have happened.

@5T1G_jr... If I had to guess, I'd say USA, left hand drive, and Speedometer appears to be in mph.
