700bhp Fiesta heads to X Games
Back in May, we reported with mildly delirious excitement that Ford's 700bhp Fiesta Rallycross was tackling the terrifying Pike's Peak hillclimb.
And now Ford has announced that the mad-hot Fiesta will compete in this year's X Games, in the hands of Tanner Foust - the X Games legend who dumped Jenson Button out of last year's Race of Champions - along with esteemed driving chaps Kenny Brack and Brian Deegan.
2009 will mark the 15th year of the X Games, but the Fiesta will be the first car to compete in the stunt competition. It'll be interesting to see whether the talented Mr Foust can keep 700bhp of turbocharged madness under control around the X Games' tight, winding course.
Never heard of the X Games? Well, we can't possibly explain it as succinctly as this video of the awesome Colin McRae back in 2006. Enjoy...

It's not a classic X Games "stunt" competition, unless you consider the big jumps stunts anyway. It's really just an amped up super special - really fun to see though, seeing McRae roll it and still come in second was incredible.

McRae was a legend. 700bhp in a Fiesta isn't too hard. Engineers manage to squeeze around 1000bhp out of the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak used by "Monster" Tajima.

however, with 700bhp i guess it will hit 60mph (97km/hr) in just 2 seconds

Actually the power output is increased to an impressive 850 Bhp from the Div1 cars 600 and delivering a monstrous level of 900 Nm of torque

What, no vague link to an old TG repeat? Blimey. I like that everyone cheers him rolling. So what kind of solo stunts can a car even do other than big jumps?
