What is it?
It’s an Italian Lancia with a Chrysler badge. After a promising start, it doesn’t seem to be doing that well here in the UK, so Chrysler has trimmed the range right back to the best-value models only.
It’s surprisingly good behind the wheel: being distantly related to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta clearly helps. The engines are all gems too, particularly the 1.4 120.
On the inside
There’s plenty of room inside, and more boot space than a Focus or a Golf, which could swing it for some people. It has quite appealing bodywork too, and the optional leather really is lovely.
The engines are economical, prices are now decent value and equipment is very good. Depreciation will be the killer - and let’s face it, wouldn’t owning an Alfa be that bit cooler?
