Once seen as purveyor of turgid transport for the elderly, Honda is now a highly complex brand with the likes of the funky Jazz and latest Accord and Civic models. Still manages to delight loyal old fogies with the best build quality in the world, bar none.
-
Accord
£20,390 - £30,395
Awkward moment, as Honda loses patience with us for failing to place it in the same category as BMW, and hikes the price on what is a worthy, but still dull, saloon car.
-
Accord Tourer
£21,725 - £31,750
A car so sensible that, were it to assume human form, would be called Nigel and work as a risk analyst in Kettering. Which is no reason not to buy one.
-
Civic
£13,235 - £22,460
Hilariously space-age design brief seems calculated to send old folk running for the Toyota brochure. New version builds on previous gen's looks, but some of the character has been lost.
-
CR-V
£20,720 - £31,965
Probably the first SUV to come out of the closet and admit that it's never going off road. Once that nonsense is out of the way, you're left with a decent 4wd family car. Bit dull, though.
-
CR-Z
£16,985 - £21,930
When the car-haters introduced all those incentives for hybrids, they obviously didn’t reckon on this.
-
Insight
£16,285 - £20,285
Honda's attempt to better the Toyota Prius results in boring mediocrity. Sorry, but others just do it better.
-
Jazz
£10,515 - £18,595
The old Jazz was excellent. This is even better. Challenges the Fiesta for sexiness too (or is that just us?)
