Effectively it's Mercedes' version of Rolls-Royce, and it fulfils every worst nightmare you might have had about what would happen if the Germans ever attempted uber-Britishness. Vast, ugly, tasteless and costing more than the EEC farming subsidy, it's a car in which to demonstrate you have more money than sense.
