Peugeot Partner Tepee overall verdict
Additional Info
-
Beware cars named after Native America tents. It’s a mantra I’ve always stuck by
Peugeot’s badge-engineered version of the Citroen Berlingo. And every bit as competent, so why do we prefer the Citroen. Is is just that silly name?
-
Comfort
Unsurprisingly, given the Tepee’s van-like dimensions, there’s a bit of body roll, so tell your passengers to hang on if you’re in a rush. Apart from that, they’ll be as comfy as can be back there.
-
Performance
A huge choice of engines, but in a nutshell it has to be a diesel and the 90bhp version is the best compromise between power and economy: it’ll manage 0-60 in 14 seconds and still give you 50mpg.
-
Cool
Possibly just a little bit, but only in a sort of inverted-cool way thanks to the whole van-with-windows thing. We’ve confused ourselves there.
-
Quality
Due to the Tepee’s van-origins, it still has a utilitarian feel inside due to the extensive use of hard plastic. That said, it’s strongly put together.
-
Handling
Plenty of grip and it rides bumps nicely, but that body roll will become very evident if you start thrashing the Tepee. So don’t.
-
Practicality
As practical as they come: masses of cubbyholes and roof compartments and other clever storage solutions. Put your keys somewhere in the Tepee for safekeeping and you’re unlikely to find them again for weeks.
-
Running costs
Great value for all the space you get, and with the right engine choice a good economical day-to-day car. However, for some reason the Tepee seems to lose its value quicker than the related Citroen Berlingo.
