Hammond’s icons: Aston Martin Vanquish S
It may be heavy, it may be expensive, but the Aston Vanquish is still a thing of beauty

Tricky, this. Y'see, here I am, claiming legendary status for the Aston Vanquish S, a car we were very rude about on the show. And when two people asked me, independently, in recent years if they should buy an Aston as their ‘toy' car, I replied that, no, they absolutely should not. Both were bankers, so I was very much tempted to reply that, yes, they should buy two if possible. But the fact is, this is a flawed, fragile, expensive creature, and anyone but a banker should be warned off owning one in the strongest possible terms.
