TG MAG CELEBRATES 20 YEARS
This month, Top Gear Magazine turns 20. The big 2-0. In that time it's sold more than 66 million copies worldwide, and driven in excess of 5,000 cars on more than one million miles through hell and high water to bring you the biggest and best stories in motoring. And drifting. Lots and lots of drifting.
To celebrate, this month's bumper collectors' edition takes a sepia-tinted, glassy-eyed look back over 20 years of TG.
As well as reminiscing about cock-ups past, we crown our favourite car from last 20 years. Thankfully, we had you lot to give us a helping hand, else we'd still be arguing. And throwing things - mainly at each other, occasionally through plate-glass windows.
Over 100,000 of you voted in our poll, leaving us in little doubt as to which car deserved the top spot. The Bugatti Veyron. Read why in this month's TopGear Magazine.
Here's how the rest of our top 10 ended up:
1. Bugatti Veyron (2005)
2. VW Golf GTI (2005)
3. Rolls-Royce Phantom (2003)
4. Ferrari 458 (2009)
5. Porsche Boxster (1996)
6. BMW 320d (1999)
7. Ford Focus (1998)
8. Porsche 911 (1993)
9. Renault Clio Williams (1993)
10. Lexus LFA (2010)
Less difficult/violent/painful was naming the worst car of the past 20 years. And let's not beat about the bush. It's the Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible.
