The Vauxhall's design keeps catching you on the hop. Every time you walk up to the GTC you do a bit of a double-take, because you're expecting it to look like an Astra (itself no eyesore) - and then it strikes you that it doesn't. Every single panel is different, and it's notably wider too, and bends reflected light with some interesting swooshes pressed into the side. Climb in and you get well-bolstered SRi seats and a cabin that does enough not to feel too hatch-like. And yet there's room for three in the back, so it can act the hatch when it has to.
