Rare Bertone BMW sells for £400k
One-off, driveable 1969 ‘Spicup’ concept designed by Giugiaro sells at Bonhams auction

Back in them days, concept cars were often sold to the public, and once it had premiered its wares to 1960s Geneva, the Spicup was bought by a Dutch car dealer who made it road legal, changed the colour to orange and covered approximately 62,000 miles in it over a ten year period, no doubt revelling in that rather glorious old-school six.
It was then put into storage at some point in the 1980s, and only recently resurfaced in 2008, when it was subjected to a full, complete restoration to its 1969 show condition by Carrozzeria Granturismo in Milan. And sadly for you, it's been snapped up by a US buyer at Bonhams' BMW auction in Germany, and will leave Europe for the first time since it was built.
Does this make you sad, or are you glad to see the back of this rare, one-off 1969 show car? Let us know on MyFace...
