What’s it like to drive a... big MAN army truck
Alarming and reassuring in equal measure, this is off-roading at its most remarkable and ridiculous

With all four diffs at work the windscreen is filled with nothing but flat, lifeless sky as the 77 reaches the crest and just keeps going, taking its front axle heavenwards with you. But keep the throttle balanced and with the lazy calm of a slow motion replay the cab reconnects with terra firma and you're on your merry way. Oh, and it can do that with a 15-tonne payload as well.
It's not a pretty thought that we're fighting a war somewhere, but it's one made easier to swallow by the miracles of MAN.
We say: alarming and reassuring in equal measure, this is off-roading at its most remarkable and ridiculous.
