A shrewd businessman - much of his fortune derives from the sale of Ginger Media back in 2000 - he denies that he thinks much about the investment potential of his cars, and remains unconvinced by the fustily obsessive nature of the concours world.
"I'm happy for the people who do enjoy it, but I just don't get it. You go to somewhere like Goodwood and there's racing, the people smell of petrol and oil, even the fat blokes look good in racing overalls, there are girls around, then everyone goes for a drink afterwards. For me, it's all about the joy you get out of it. And I don't see much joy at those concours events.
