What it’s like to drive a… large logger

This is Allan's office, and it's very pleasant - there's a framed picture of his family peering lovingly from the A-pillar, and the rear of the cabin is lined in Glasgow Rangers colours. He adjusts the running speed down to a novice level (to dampen the responsiveness of the controls), and I take a joystick in each hand.
The left lever moves the huge crane left or right, and the cutting clamp forwards or backwards parallel to the ground. The right rotates the clamp or lifts it up and down. Confused? Me too. Thankfully, to make all its 18 tons move forward, there's a very car-like accelerator. There's an automatic braking device too which holds me on the incline - but that clever cab is perfectly horizontal so I barely notice.
