What it’s like to drive a… large logger

It's an amazingly quick process that really does feel like operating one of those exoskeletons from the second Matrix film, but instead of firing rounds at sentinels. I'm tearing up a forest. Allan tells me this machine will do the work of 20 men with chainsaws - in his expert hands that's around 200 trees a day.
Two. Hundred. In a day. Makes me feel a bit sick, really, until Allan reminds me as I clamber down from the cab that this is a farming process, like any other farming process, just that it takes 30 years for the crops to grow back. And, yes, I walk past a team behind us as I trudge back to civilisation that takes care of planting saplings to make sure this happens.
We say: Like taking your Playstation into the forest. And a great alternative to 20 blokes with chainsaws...
